Science, a key to generate value in health innovations and agricultural inputs
Inis Biotech is the Liaison and Technology Transfer Office of Fundación del Instituto Leloir (FIL, Spanish acronym).
Vision
To be a reference organization in scientific transfer models for the health and agricultural inputs sector.
Mission
To contribute value to the country and the world by innovating, improving the quality and effectiveness of health therapies and/or increasing the yields of the agriculture industry in a sustainable way with the environment, based on the discoveries made by the researchers of the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET, Spanish acronym) who work for FIL.
Action plans
We analyze the market potential and design the business strategy of technologies of FIL and third parties that require this type of advice.
We negotiate with companies, entrepreneurs and other interested parties the licenses of patents and know how of inventions, which are owned by Fundación Instituto Leloir and CONICET.
We promote the marketing of services and technological consultancies to companies and third parties interested in these services. We also promote the creation of technology-based companies and the implementation of projects in co-development with companies.
We support the scientific community of FIL in the economic formulation of their applied research projects and with the potential for transfer, we guide FIL in the institutional procedures related to the transfer and its participation in the research results.
About us
Our office is a non-profit association with a corporation structure, which gives flexibility and dynamics to its actions. The structure is made up of an ad-honorem Board of Directors made up of scientists from CONICET-FIL, and a stable team that accompanies the activities, working together with advisors and coordinating with institutions.

Strategic alliances
The work dynamics of INIS Biotech focuses on its team of professionals and strengthens its scope through internal articulation with researchers, advisors and an outward network with people of the scientific and technological innovation system at national and international level, through formal and informal agreements, in a collaborative and complementary way. The main institutional agreements that give rise to its function are the following:
An agreement between the Fundación Instituto Leloir (FIL) and INIS Biotech, whereby FIL designates INIS as the exclusive representative for the exploitation and marketing of the inventions, discoveries and developments owned by FIL or those in which it has an interest. In this way, INIS acts as an interface among science, society and companies.
An agreement among Fundación Instituto Leloir (FIL), the National Scientific and Technical Research Council (CONICET) and Inis Biotech, which establishes the regulatory framework for the administration, exploitation and distribution of results derived from the rights generated by the scientific technological research carried out in common.
